Ooops, what have we here....an external link already!

I just had to link to this item as it has been causing quite a stir over the last couple of days. It seems that this poor chap was working for Microsoft and took a picture of a truck load of Apple G5's being unloaded. 'So what' I hear you cry, well he has now been fired by MS and it seems that most people are split fairly evenly over whether he has been badly treated or whether he was just plain stupid.
Obviously if it had not involved MS it would never have become such a big deal.

A report from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer

On a different theme.....can anyone lend me a tenner?.......yes, we can.

Wednesday, October 29, 2003

I am going to be using fewer images in the main section of this here blog from now on as it seems to be taking longer and longer and to load, I may even cut down on the links to other sites! This will mean of course that I will have to create my own content, which may be no bad thing.
If anyone out there would like to comment on the speed issue (i.e. do you find it slow to load, what connection do you use e.g. dial-up, Broadband etc) I would appreciate it.

As well as the Borth photo's I have added some new photo's in the
'of the family section' please feel free to browse, the sizes are a bit hap-hazard bit I like to think that it provides a more artistic feel.

and the winner of moaner of the week is.....Mary Goldring

In the middle of the excitement and ambition which surrounded the first flights of Concorde, one voice remained unimpressed. Journalist Mary Goldring warned that while the venture might be impressive technically, it would in fact prove to be a hugely expensive mistake. As the plane takes its final commercial flights, she says she was proved right.

story here

Mary based her belief that Concorde was a waste of resources on her understanding of airlines at the time which questioned if signing up to Concorde would be financially viable.

"It's nice to be proved right. I knew it wasn't going to sell because I was told it wasn't going to sell."

What a complete misery she is, Concorde was one of the finest engineering achievements that this country (and France of course) has ever made.
It was never commercially viable because the Americans who still to this day have been unable to design and manufacture a supersonic airliner made sure that if they could not build one themselves they were not going to buy one from the BRITISH!!!!

Update from Friday's entry :-

'A software company has dropped a threat to sue a US student who published details on how to get around anti-piracy technology on a new music CD.
The company behind the software, SunnComm Technologies, said it did not want to hamper academic research.'

....makes you feel all warm inside.

Off to a winning start.
Although Georgia are not one of the worlds top rugby playing nations (they are ranked 17th in fact) just above that mighty rugby nation Japan, a win is a win.

Bring on South Africa!!!

Whilst the rugby world cup is on when you see this rose, click on it for the latest information.

Came across this story today whilst surfing and it made me laugh, all the money that these record companies are spending on anti-piracy technology and this chap defeated it using a single key!
Now, if the record companies were to charge a reasonable price for CD's.........................

'Nokia cell phones are exploding in people's pockets'
I heard this mentioned on the radio yesterday evening. Jason makes some interesting points regarding this issue.

Oh please stop, I think I am going to be sick
(No more posts regarding FA, I promise).

On a lighter note......

Jersey police indicate Channel 4's "live" Russian roulette stunt, which took place on the island, was a hoax.
Derren Brown truly a master of deception.

NOT PLEASED

Having just watched the final of Fame Academy I can't believe that Alex has won.
It has been pre-determined since the start, all the judges loved her and went well over the top in their love for her every week when she can hardly sing and she only has one (skater girl) style, and to add insult to injury Mr Bedingfield who sang with them both whilst the voting was still open, gave his over-whelming support to Alex and urged viewers to vote for her. This was well biased and whatever his views he should have supported them both.
I just hope that the runner up becomes more successful as Gareth Gates has done in coming second to Will Young.

Now I know that it was the viewers who chose the winner at the end of that day but that is not to say that they have not been influenced by the views of the so called 'experts'. Alex has even appeared on TOTP, what an advantage.

As for her self penned rendition I could not make out a word of it, whereas Alistair's own song was much better in terms of clarity, tune and melody.
END OF RANT.

Lets just hope that Gloucester can do better tomorrow..........doohhh

I have added both the Zurich and Barclaycard Premiership tables to the list of links on the right hand side of the blog, just click on them each week to check on the progress of both Gloucester and Liverpool.
